Location
Fall at Freeman Park in Idaho Falls is always pretty! Located on the West side of Idaho Falls near the Snake River and regional airport.
Access
For this particular part of the park, enter the park be heading West on Presto Street, then turn left onto Cultural Circle. Around the corner you'll see a parking area and a playground. It's a grassy area with huge trees for shade making it very easy access. I think strollers and wheelchairs would be easy to maneuver here.
Photography
The huge trees at this park provide wonderful filtered light with a variety of other foliage along the river path. The grass is well maintained in most areas and the rolling hills provide a beautiful backdrop.
Exploration
This area of Idaho Falls provides quick access to lots of yummy food places. And of course walking the park and along the river is very enjoyable too. There is also a little creek you can enjoy and frisbee golf throughout the park. Local events are often held at the park throughout the year providing lots of family fun.
Best time of year
In general, Spring, Summer and Fall are ideal for photo shoots. But I would love to do a winter session here!
Time of day
This location is great for afternoon and evening sessions during golden hour. But I think we could shoot on the far West side in the morning and still get great light. The trees create a wide canopy to filter sunlight which helps dissolve harsh shadows.
Respect nature and property
Remember to always respect nature and property. Abide by private property signs and practice Leave No Trace when you visit someone's land and do not disturb wildlife. This is a public park so we may sometimes have to work around people who are enjoying nature or playing frisbee golf.
